We are excited to announce that Philippe Lucas(PhD) will be joining Diplomat Consulting as a Senior Advisor! He joins a growing list of stellar advisors we have added in recent weeks and will add invaluable expertise to support Diplomat’s work in the Life Sciences sector.
A leading cannabis and psychedelic researcher, Philippe’s career spans decades across patient access advocacy, regulatory affairs, and evidence-based drug policy. Philippe currently serves as President of SABI Mind, a clinic group pioneering psychedelic-assisted therapy to treat mental health, pain, and substance use disorders. His career highlights include founding the Vancouver Island Compassion Society, one of Canada’s first non-profit medical cannabis dispensaries, and co-founding both the Multidisciplinary Association of Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) Canada and the Victoria Association of Psychedelic Studies.
We are thrilled to add a patient care advocate leader in Dr.Phillipe Lucas to the Diplomat. Dr. Lucas leadership at the Victoria Compassion Club, Tilray and SABI Mind has positioned him as a world leader in research and utilization as cannabis and psilocybin as a therapeutic.

Philippe’s research efforts have had a global impact. He is the Primary Investigator of the Canadian Psychedelic Survey (2022) and co-PI of the Global Psychedelic Survey (2023). His previous work includes overseeing groundbreaking cannabis research as VP, Global Patient Research & Access at Tilray, where he was instrumental in the company’s international growth and research initiatives. Philippe has presented his work to the Canadian House of Commons and Senate and worked with governments worldwide to promote evidence-based drug policies.
